AML and compliance

How Lumo Wallet and its partners work to prevent financial crime, while you keep control of your crypto.

Last updated: March 2026 · Lumo Wallet LLC: Version 1.0

This page is provided for transparency and should be read together with all applicable Lumo Wallet policies, partner terms and local laws. Lumo Wallet is non-custodial and does not provide legal, tax, accounting or investment advice.

Non-custodial by design

Lumo Wallet is designed so users hold their own private keys and control their own crypto assets. We do not take custody of user funds through the core wallet.

This architecture supports user financial sovereignty while still allowing Lumo Wallet and its partners to apply compliance controls to hosted, partner-enabled or business services where applicable.

Sanctions screening

Sanctions screening may be conducted by regulated third-party partners where applicable, including for card, on-ramp, off-ramp, business onboarding, swap or merchant services.

Screening may include checks against OFAC, UN, EU, UK or other sanctions lists depending on the provider and jurisdiction.

KYC and KYB

Some Lumo Wallet services may require Know Your Customer or Know Your Business checks. These checks may be handled by partner providers rather than Lumo Wallet directly.

Users and businesses must provide accurate information when onboarding to regulated or partner-enabled services. False, misleading or incomplete information may result in refusal, suspension or termination of access.

Transaction monitoring

Where applicable, third-party providers may monitor transactions, wallet addresses, behavioural patterns, payment flows or blockchain activity to detect fraud, sanctions exposure, money laundering, terrorist financing, scams or other illicit activity.

Lumo Wallet may also apply security and abuse-prevention controls to hosted services, business tools, plugins and API credentials.

Prohibited activity

Lumo Wallet services must not be used for money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, fraud, scams, ransomware, trafficking, illegal gambling, illegal drugs, weapons, exploitation, stolen goods, market manipulation or other unlawful activity.

We may restrict access to hosted features or partner-enabled services if activity appears unlawful, suspicious, abusive or inconsistent with applicable policies.

Cooperation with authorities

Lumo Wallet may cooperate with regulators, law enforcement, court orders or lawful requests where required. Because the wallet is non-custodial, Lumo Wallet cannot seize user-controlled private keys or reverse on-chain transactions.

Hosted data, business account records, support records or partner-enabled service records may be reviewed or disclosed where legally required.

Third-party partner compliance

On-ramp, off-ramp, card, swap and payment partners may apply their own compliance programmes, risk controls, limits, blocked jurisdictions, identity checks and transaction review processes.

Partner decisions may affect availability of certain services even where the non-custodial wallet remains usable.

User responsibility

Users and merchants are responsible for complying with laws that apply to them, including tax, sanctions, consumer protection, digital asset, financial crime and business regulation.

Lumo Wallet does not provide legal, tax, investment or regulatory advice.
