Terms of service

The terms that apply when you use the Lumo Wallet app, website, business tools and related services.

Last updated: 2 October 2026 · Lumo Wallet LLC: Version 1.1

This page is provided for transparency and should be read together with all applicable Lumo Wallet policies, partner terms and local laws. Lumo Wallet is non-custodial and does not provide legal, tax, accounting or investment advice.

Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Lumo Wallet, you agree to these Terms and any policies referenced by them. If you do not agree, you should not use the services.

These Terms apply to the Lumo Wallet application, website, business payment tools, plugins, support channels and any related features made available by Lumo Wallet LLC.

Eligibility

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Lumo Wallet is legal in your jurisdiction. Services may not be available in every country or region and may be restricted where required by law or by third-party providers.

You must not use Lumo Wallet if you are prohibited from doing so under applicable sanctions, financial crime, consumer protection or digital asset laws.

Description of services

Lumo Wallet is designed as a self-custody crypto wallet and payments ecosystem. Features may include wallet creation, sending and receiving crypto, swaps, on-ramp and off-ramp access, Lumo Business tools, crypto invoicing, plugins, card-related features, Pulse and future POS functionality.

Some services are provided directly by Lumo Wallet and others are provided by regulated or specialist third-party partners. Availability, limits and onboarding requirements may vary.

Non-custodial nature of services

Lumo Wallet is non-custodial. Private keys and recovery phrases are generated and held by the user, not by Lumo Wallet.

Lumo Wallet cannot recover lost seed phrases, reverse blockchain transactions, access user funds, freeze user wallets or guarantee recovery if a user loses device access or wallet credentials.

Third-party services

Lumo Wallet may integrate with third-party providers for card issuing, on-ramp, off-ramp, swaps, compliance screening, analytics, infrastructure, business payments or other features.

Third-party services may have their own terms, privacy policies, KYC/KYB checks, fees, limits, restrictions and eligibility rules.

Lumo cards

Card features are powered by licensed partner issuers or programme managers where applicable. Lumo Wallet does not itself issue cards unless explicitly stated.

Card access, top-ups, spending, supported regions, limits, identity checks, fees and suspension decisions may be controlled by the applicable card provider.

Business payment services

Lumo Business, plugins, invoices and related merchant tools are intended to help businesses accept crypto payments. Merchants remain responsible for taxes, accounting, refunds, customer service, charge policies and legal compliance in their jurisdiction.

Crypto transactions may be final once confirmed on-chain. Businesses should clearly communicate their refund and fulfilment policies to customers.

User responsibilities

You are responsible for securing your device, recovery phrase, private keys, passwords, app access, business dashboard access and any API or plugin credentials.

You agree not to use Lumo Wallet for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, misleading, sanctioned, high-risk or prohibited activities.

Fees

Fees may apply to swaps, card services, withdrawals, business tools, third-party services or network transactions. Network fees are set by blockchain networks and are outside Lumo Wallet's control.

Where possible, fees are shown before confirmation. Third-party provider fees, spreads, exchange rates and limits may change.

Intellectual property

Lumo Wallet names, logos, designs, software, website content, product copy, interfaces and brand assets are owned by Lumo Wallet LLC or licensed to it.

You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, misuse or misrepresent Lumo Wallet intellectual property without permission.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Digital asset services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Lumo Wallet does not guarantee uninterrupted service, specific asset performance, transaction speed, token availability or third-party provider availability.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lumo Wallet is not liable for losses caused by market volatility, user error, lost credentials, third-party services, blockchain failures, wallet compromise, regulatory changes or unsupported use.

Suspension and termination

Lumo Wallet may restrict access to hosted services, business tools, support, integrations, API credentials or partner-enabled services where required for security, legal compliance, suspected abuse or operational reasons.

Because the wallet is non-custodial, restricting access to Lumo-hosted services does not give Lumo Wallet control over private keys or on-chain assets.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws applicable to Lumo Wallet LLC unless mandatory consumer laws in your location require otherwise.

Disputes should first be raised with Lumo Wallet support so the matter can be reviewed and resolved where possible.

Lumo Card Terms and Conditions

Effective 2 October 2026. These terms are between Lumo Wallet LLC ("Lumo") and you, the Lumo Wallet cardholder. They govern the Lumo Basic card and the Lumo Pro card offered in the Lumo Wallet app. By applying for or using a card you accept them, together with the Lumo Wallet Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. All amounts are in US dollars unless stated otherwise.

1. Who provides the cards

Lumo is not a bank. Both cards are Visa cards issued by licensed card issuers under their own cardholder agreements, which you also accept when you apply. Lumo provides the app, the application and verification flow, top-up routing, customer support and the fees listed here. The issuer provides the card, the card network processing, and holds the card balance.

CardIssued byCard typeCard currency
Lumo BasicA licensed Visa card issuer (our Basic card partner)Visa Platinum, virtualMulti-currency (USD, EUR and others held in your card account)
Lumo ProA licensed Visa card issuer (our Pro card partner)Visa Corporate, virtualUSD

2. Definitions

Card balance means the money held on a Pro card or in your Basic card account. Top-up means moving money from your Lumo Wallet onto a card or card account. Activity means any purchase made with the card or any completed top-up. Inactive means no activity for the period in section 8. Fee wallet means the Lumo wallet address that receives Lumo fees.

3. Eligibility and verification

You must be at least 18, hold a Lumo Wallet, and live in a country the card is available in (section 4). Each card requires identity verification by the issuer: a government photo ID, a selfie, your residential address and, for Pro, your phone number and occupation. Verification decisions are made by the issuer; Lumo cannot override them.

One person may hold up to 5 Basic cards and up to 5 Pro cards, counting closed cards. Cards are personal: you may not share card details or let anyone else use the card.

Your card is linked to the Lumo Wallet address you applied from. If you restore your wallet on another device with your recovery phrase, your cards come with it. A new wallet is a new customer and must apply again.

4. Available countries

The card you are offered depends on your country of residence as verified at application. Where both cards are available you may hold both. Availability can change; the app always shows what is open to you today. A country being listed means we can offer you a card there; the issuer's verification and programme rules decide whether a card is issued.

5. Lumo Basic card

The Basic card is free to issue and spends from your Basic card account balance, which you fund from your Lumo Wallet. With auto spending on, the card draws what it needs from your wallet balance at the moment you pay, under the funding permission you sign when the card is issued, so you do not have to top up in advance. It is a virtual Visa Platinum card you can add to Apple Pay and Google Pay and use anywhere Visa is accepted.

All Basic cards on one card account share the same account balance; the balance shown under each card is that shared balance. Spending limits and "spent this month" are per card.

6. Lumo Pro card

The Pro card carries a one-time issuance fee of $3.99 and holds its own USD balance. From time to time we may run special offers on the issuance fee; the price shown in the app when you apply is the price you pay, which you load by top-up. It is a virtual Visa Corporate card with higher limits, usable worldwide and in Apple Pay and Google Pay. Each Pro card has its own balance; money on one Pro card cannot be spent from another.

When you add a Pro card to a merchant, wallet or subscription service, that service may run a $0.00 card verification (a "Visa Inc." check that confirms the card is live). Each verification carries a card verification fee of $0.10 for a US merchant or $0.50 for a merchant outside the US, which the issuer deducts from your card balance and which appears in your card transactions as a Verification fee. The verification itself takes no money.

7. Top-ups, quotes and exchange rates

A top-up is a transfer of crypto from your Lumo Wallet. Blockchain network fees (gas) are charged by the network, shown before you confirm, and are separate from Lumo's top-up fee.

Basic card: you send the chosen asset on Base to the card account deposit address shown in the app. The 1.5% Lumo fee is sent in the same asset to the Lumo fee wallet in the same step. Example: a $100 USDC top-up moves $100 to your card account and $1.50 to Lumo.

Auto spending and auto conversion (Basic card): with auto spending on, a purchase is funded from your wallet at the moment you pay, in the order of balances you set. If you hold no USDC, USDT or EURC on Base, the app converts another asset you hold into the stablecoin the card needs. That conversion carries a 0.4% Lumo fee on the converted amount, plus the network fee, both shown before you confirm. The 1.5% top-up fee applies to the amount that lands on the card.

Pro card: the app quotes an exact crypto amount for the dollar credit you choose, at the market rate at that moment. The quote already includes the 1% Lumo fee and is valid for 5 minutes. Example: a $2.00 credit is quoted as $2.02 worth of USDT. Once the payment is confirmed on chain the full credit is loaded onto the card, usually within a few minutes.

Top-ups are final once broadcast on chain. If you send a different amount than quoted, an unsupported asset, or to an expired quote, contact support; Lumo will reconcile it and may return the funds minus network costs. Minimum top-up is $1.00. Lumo may set maximums per transaction or per day and will show them in the app.

8. Inactivity fee and closure

A card that is not used is still a card we pay the issuer for, so a card with no purchase or top-up for 28 days carries an inactivity fee, charged on day 28 and every 28 days after while it stays unused. Any purchase or any completed top-up counts as use and resets the clock.

A closed card cannot be reopened; you may apply for a new one. Any remaining balance on a closed Pro card is returned to your Lumo Wallet, minus the fee owed. A closed Basic card does not affect your card account balance, which stays available to your other Basic cards or for withdrawal. You can avoid the fee at any time by making a purchase or a top-up of any size, or by closing the card yourself in the app before day 28.

9. Fee schedule

These are all the fees Lumo charges for the cards. Fees set by the issuer or the card network (foreign exchange, declined transactions, cash withdrawals where offered) are shown in the issuer's cardholder agreement.

We may run special offers on any fee from time to time. An offer price applies only to applications or transactions completed within the offer period shown in the app; the standard price applies afterwards. Lumo fees are collected in the asset you pay with, at the quoted rate. Lumo may change fees with at least 30 days' notice in the app or by email; a changed fee applies only to transactions after the notice period.

10. Security, freezing and misuse

Keep your card number, expiry and CVV private; they are shown only inside the app after you unlock it. You are responsible for transactions made with your card details until you freeze the card or report it. Freeze and unfreeze your card in the app at any time at no cost; a frozen card declines all purchases but keeps its balance.

If you believe your card details have been seen by someone else, freeze the card immediately and contact support. We will close it and you can order a new one.

You may not use a card for anything unlawful where you or the merchant are located, for gambling where prohibited, for buying crypto with the intention of circumventing these fees, or in a way that breaches the issuer's rules. Lumo or the issuer may freeze or close a card without notice where we suspect fraud, money laundering, sanctions exposure or misuse, and may be required by law to hold funds while a review takes place.

Lumo never asks for your recovery phrase, card PIN or CVV by message, email or phone.

11. Liability, disputes and changes

Lumo is responsible for the app, for routing your top-ups correctly and for the fees in these terms. The card issuer is responsible for the card, for authorising and settling purchases and for holding the card balance. Lumo is not liable for merchant disputes, declined transactions, issuer or network outages, blockchain delays, or losses caused by sharing your card details or recovery phrase.

To dispute a card purchase, contact Lumo support within 60 days of the transaction with the card, date, merchant and amount; we will raise it with the issuer and keep you informed. Top-up problems are handled by Lumo directly.

We may update these terms. Changes that increase a fee or reduce a benefit take effect 30 days after we notify you in the app or by email; other changes take effect when published. Continuing to use a card after that is acceptance. If you do not accept a change, close the card before it takes effect.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without affecting any consumer rights you have under the law of your country of residence.
